Hi— I dive deep into side hustles, writing how-to guides to help others start their own.

[My Founding Story]

I have always been curious about how things work, which led me to Engineering. For over 15 years, I’ve developed infrastructure to create a better world for future generations. I enjoy this work and continue to be an engineer.

Alongside engineering, I have a passion for business and entrepreneurship. In 2010, I started my first side business. This hobby evolved into exploring and testing hundreds of ideas. I’ve started and failed at many businesses, and researched even more. While I’ve had a few successful ventures, my real passion lies in learning and understanding how businesses are built from scratch. I often think about which business would suit friends or family members.

Reflecting on the legacy I want to leave for my children, I decided to share my passion and knowledge. I began documenting my research and findings to help others build the lives they desire. This led to the creation of Practical Solopreneur.

[Why I Write These Guides]

Whenever I have a business idea, I wish there was a detailed, step-by-step guide to follow. While there is plenty of advice available, it’s often scattered and too general. I write these guides for myself and others who want specific, actionable steps to start a business.

[How I Create These Guides]

I outline step-by-step how I would start a business from beginning to end, in as much detail as possible. For each guide, I:

  • Extensively research existing businesses in the field
  • Interview business owners
  • Draw from my 14 years of experience building and running side hustles
  • Present the information in an easy-to-follow format

[Why I Do What I Do]

Starting a business should be about building the life you want. I believe in working for independence, flexibility, and personal satisfaction—not just more money. Instead of asking, “How can I make more?” ask, “What kind of life do I want?” and build a business to support that vision. It’s about finding balance and knowing what’s enough. I keep things simple and efficient, whether it’s a one-person operation or a small team of freelancers.

I write these guides because I wish I had them when I started. My mission is to help you gain the freedom to pursue what you love and avoid what you don’t.

Join me in creating a business that supports your life, not the other way around.
